It is the mess... My neighbour, her first sentences.... and it is very sharply reminding of my ex... The first sentences... And when I'm reminded of that I feel unquenched hatred to my ex, and to myself that i let myself to be dragged to the bottom and having no courage nor strength to say "no" in final discard.. I was voiceless, hospitalised in closed unit of mental institution, and discard was terrible.. One of the worse memories in my life.. Luckily, I was already on the mend and hospitalised myself a month before.... I have to go to my diary and read what I wrote then... Then I was between the anvil (my mom) and the hammer (my ex).. I have to get my life back whatever age I am now... Thank you, Jerry

100% true, especially never owning their own part. Jerry, one of the things that still rings in my head from the father was the following. You’ll do as your told or get your ass blistered. I was threatened, bullied and humiliated everyday of my life.

6 years no contact and didn't go back either

When they've lost you they send fly monkey relatives to guilt you into going back. No contact and blocked no going back especially when you show your coldness towards my kids. Actions speak louder than words I went no contact in 2019 when I had my daughter so it's been 5 years no contact. My mother came to my house and told me I needed to change and I told her if I change, I change for myself and not for you and she had a rage and her anger came out she flew out my door and went telling other relatives that I chased her out of my house. See??? No contact and blocked and they never ever change. She's 70 and am 27 and she will never ever change to be the mother or grandmother my children need because she hasn't been in their lives from day 1 and absent and goes about playing the victim

I've found that the one thing that sometimes snaps my narc Mom out of it for a second is, "Was it worth it, that thing you just did there?" It only works after the consequences of her choices become apparent, and there's literally no way out of it for her excepting to admit that she did the thing that happened. But it does work, for a short time.

My oldest daughter was diagnosed with BPD and is very narcissistic. She has four children. My other daughter struggles with self esteem and anger and is pregnant with twins.We have generations of severe dysfunction in our family and suffered two violent crime traumas in their pre-teen years. I have been made the scapegoat (always was) and my older daughter has manipulated her sister to hate me. I am not allowed to see my grandchildren or the twins when they are born. I don't know if there is anything I can do.

The male parent used physical and mental abuse. The female parent used mental abuse. Hit and threatened to hit me - mp. Mental abuse was fishing rods through the window, and being sent to Siberia - fp. I was only 7. No boundaries, and no help from anyone.

It's a tough pill to swallow. I spent my adult life trying to grow a loving relationship with my parents, who abused us kids. They almost never even call to ask how I am. I have distanced myself but grieve the loss.

They act like a light switch

There were such wild events, I remember events that happened before I was two. It's easier to remember, if you are later in foster care, and the people in your household change, etc. The weird thing, is if I was two, how reliable are those memories, but many are vivid. Not paying back-rent, and buying a car instead, is a memory that's hard to forget, even as a child you know that dont seem right. And you get 58+ years to roll that memory over in your head. And my father was in the navy, and kept fathering children all over the world. Never met any of them, but the drama was never ending, with new baby-mommies calling, and visiting and knocking at the door. I know several siblings by name, never met them, so, I know there are at least five I have never met, but the mothers came knocking. (5 mothers, 4 countries). Which makes me think, there must have been much more.

Sounds exactly like my parents that is why I have moved 100mi 3 hours driving to be as far away from those people as possible.

That's de foundation of any family made by narcs parents, they not just make you feel bad, they actually spread lies and rumours among the siblings to have a trashcan in the toxic system, usually the scapegoat it's the only empathetic in the group, that is why parents target this one, because the scapegoat it's not like them(parents and siblings), subconsciously it's the rebel of the family and must be punished for having not toxic loyalty, that is exactly what happened to me, I was the scapegoat (still for them) and I don't give a sheet to their opinion, at the end it's like the tale of the ugly duckling becoming a swan. They all remain always ugly but we scapegoats thrive and flourish...they end pathetic, sick, angry, hatful because choose to be loyal to the generational trauma...so please REBEL AGAINST IT!!!
